Somebody thinks they can fatten up Arizona homeowners for frivolous lawsuits to benefit lawyers, and they packaged their devious scheme into Proposition 201. This ballot measure, if passed, would give anyone the right to sue a homeowner for things that might be wrong with the home if it is for sale.
You don’t have to buy the house to have standing to sue, and you can put money down and get 95% of it back any time up to 100 days later. This gives the lawyers plenty of time to build their frivolous case and accumulate billable hours. And you have to hire lawyers! None of this inexpensive mediation stuff would be allowed.
I would think even the Arizona lawyers would come out against this one. It’s giving your line of work another black eye.

I found your site because I was looking for information on Prop 201. Man, am I confused by this initiative. I try to find the reason behind some of these efforts, but I just can’t figure this one out. I stumbled on this commercial, you might enjoy it because it concurs with your thoughts. .

And, after all the research I’ve done, I think you’re right. Only trial lawyers benefit and homeowner pay. . . I’m no on this one.
