On death, and our misconceptions of it

We imagine our trip to the afterlife to be a threat, and we beg for peace. I suggest we raise our expectations.

I wrote this post in 2014. I still like it. I comment on our collective misunderstanding of the afterlife. At least, I hope I have a clue.

My impression of this life is that we take it far too seriously. Too much guilt. Too much obedience. Too much remorse.

We characterize the afterlife as a place to rest. Rest from what? Too much caution and pessimism? I hope we are remindedĀ to celebrate, not apologize or retreat.
